Well it's the final weekend, and all the preparations and practice will be put to the test on Mon and Tue. Keep Calm. You are well prepared. Go through your method and ingredients and remember your serving dishes and garnishes and decorations. April 17th and an early start!! 8 am🙈 after months of hard work two teams set out from St Vincent's to CIT. The second year team Sarah Constant, Aoibh Kingston and Asah Aiskin Scifectproject was titled Dehydration levels in second level students. They were entered in the Junior Life Science Category Group Section. The Seniors from fifth years project was based on low assisted tech to help students with dyslexia. (Amy Sexton, Kelsey Ricken and Sophie Geaney) After setting up in CIT the girls presented their hard work to the judges, guests, teachers, fellow competitors and staff from CIT. They were fantastic ambassadors for St Vincent's. They were able to attend STEM talks in chemistry and astronomy. They visited other competitors stands. Finally, after a long but enjoyable day the winners were announced and gladly all the hard work has paid off and the seniors placed top in their Life Science Category. What do you need????
Your sewing box and equipment, thread, needles etc Your fabric… the check one Your Design (the cartoon one )get another one if you lost your one Plain fabric (a pillow case will do) to put your design on A scissors A folder Permanent colour markers if you have them Your textile sheets that I gave you before Easter Break!!!! Your pencil case and your hard back Glue A good attitude Fashion magazines (if you have them) …..anything else you can think of ….. Task Sheets need to be finished if not already done and practice for your cookery exam! Timing & planning is important. Serving up!! What dished will you use? What garnishes or decorations will you use on all your dishes?? how will you present everything? what words will you use in your evaluation... Think about that!! Practice your dishes during the Easter Break. It will be well worth it! taste it write down what it tastes like USE your taste word sheet and photograph it to show me for when we return to school. Get family members to taste and tell you what it is like! Be brave! They love you! Be nice! They want to help you! Be kind. Say thank you even if it is a criticism: you will get better the next time. 35% is a lot of marks and we have been preparing for this exam since first year. it is about the Process not the product!! Or end result. practice practice !! You have 30 mins prep on the day and 90 mins exam time. Best of luck and Happy Easter. 🐤🐤🍫🍫 |
