Well it's the final weekend, and all the preparations and practice will be put to the test on Mon and Tue. Keep Calm. You are well prepared. Go through your method and ingredients and remember your serving dishes and garnishes and decorations. April 17th and an early start!! 8 am🙈 after months of hard work two teams set out from St Vincent's to CIT. The second year team Sarah Constant, Aoibh Kingston and Asah Aiskin Scifectproject was titled Dehydration levels in second level students. They were entered in the Junior Life Science Category Group Section. The Seniors from fifth years project was based on low assisted tech to help students with dyslexia. (Amy Sexton, Kelsey Ricken and Sophie Geaney) After setting up in CIT the girls presented their hard work to the judges, guests, teachers, fellow competitors and staff from CIT. They were fantastic ambassadors for St Vincent's. They were able to attend STEM talks in chemistry and astronomy. They visited other competitors stands. Finally, after a long but enjoyable day the winners were announced and gladly all the hard work has paid off and the seniors placed top in their Life Science Category. What do you need????

Practice your dishes during the Easter Break. It will be well worth it! taste it write down what it tastes like USE your taste word sheet and photograph it to show me for when we return to school. Get family members to taste and tell you what it is like! Be brave! They love you! Be nice! They want to help you! Be kind. Say thank you even if it is a criticism: you will get better the next time. 35% is a lot of marks and we have been preparing for this exam since first year. it is about the Process not the product!! Or end result. practice practice !! You have 30 mins prep on the day and 90 mins exam time. Try to have a theme, colours, ideas, be creative.. Connect things together and plan!! Fill it in completely and then you will need to do extra research, read your task again (cookery assignment) maybe a menu, this can be a blank card or a printed out sheet make a good effort! It could be about a special country, about flour about fish, vegetarian dishes or calcium. Think How will it look at the end when it's cooked. All dishes. What will I serve in? How will I garnish? Colour is important here. I have put loads of ideas on Pinterest. Do your best. Practice your dish and take a photo.
